Malawi Library Association (MALA) Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Malawi Library Association (MALA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) was convened to review the Association’s performance for the year under review, provide a platform for accountability, and set strategic directions for the future. During the meeting, members received and deliberated on the Chairperson’s, Secretary’s, and Treasurer’s reports, including audited financial statements, and discussed key achievements, challenges, and opportunities affecting the library and information profession in Malawi. Elections of office bearers were conducted in accordance with the MALA Constitution, auditors were appointed, and resolutions were passed to strengthen governance, membership engagement, and professional development. The AGM reaffirmed members’ commitment to advancing librarianship, promoting access to information, and supporting national development through effective library and information services.
